Leadership Lake County is seeking requests for proposals for Community Impact Projects to be completed by Leadership Lake County Signature Class of 2022 participants.
The Lake County community benefits from these projects while Leadership Lake County team members apply the knowledge and skills learned in their leadership development program days and workshops, according to a news release.
“The impact and relevance of our programs touches our community directly through our Community Impact Projects,” Leadership Lake County CEO Jessie Baginski said in the release. “It is an opportunity to affect the success and/or growth of our local nonprofits and educational organizations, while applying leadership skills developed during the year.”
Proposals are due by Aug. 10 and are to be submitted online at www.leadershiplakecounty.org.
Project criteria must contain the number of people affected by the project and require leadership, not just labor, with fundraising not as the primary goal, the release stated. Fundraising may not exceed $1,000 for materials to complete the project.
Projects must fill an organizational need with direct, visible impact to the Lake County community and have a measurable outcome, along with addressing issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion in Lake County.
The scope for each project is both narrow and specific and can be thoroughly explored within the Leadership Lake County class structure and must be sustainable beyond Leadership Lake County’s involvement.
A community impact project is an integral component of the Leadership Lake County Signature Program, the release stated.
The class reviews proposals and adopts four to six projects each year, with a team of six to eight class members working in collaboration with an agency to complete a selected project within a seven-month time frame between October and April.
The Signature Class of 2022 will narrow down the projects for selection during the final week of August.
Finalist groups will be invited to join the class at 10:30 a.m., Sept. 24, at Punderson Manor Lodge and Conference Center in Newbury Township to further discuss project expectations and to initiate the project.
Leadership Lake County is a private educational nonprofit organization.
