Tuesday November 10th has been designated as National Economic Impact Payment Registration Day.
An update from the Oregon Department of Human Services said it is a way to remind people to see if they are eligible for this money.
A release said thousands of Oregonians have not taken advantage of the federal government’s Economic Impact Payment. Individuals can receive up to $1,200, and married couples can get up to $2,400. People with qualifying children under age 17 at the end of 2019 can get an additional $500 for each qualifying child.
The deadline to apply is Saturday November 21st by 3:00 p.m.
The release said the Internal Revenue Service has mailed letters to people that qualify for the payment. Those who aren’t required to file a federal tax return can visit using the Non-Filers Payment Info Tool: https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/non-filers-enter-payment-info-here
