On Thursday, more than 1,000 people gathered virtually to find out which companies would be ranked highest on the list of the “Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania.”
Team Pennsylvania, a nonprofit, partners with the Department of Community and Economic Development and the Central Penn Business Journal to compile the list. In September Team Pennsylvania released the list of the “Best Places to work in Pennsylvania”.
To be eligible a business must be a:
- For-profit or not-for-profit business.
- A publicly or privately held business.
- Have a business facility in Pennsylvania.
- Have at least 15 full- or part-time employees working in Pennsylvania
- Be in business a minimum of one year.
The application process began in March. The winners were chosen based on who receives the highest combined scores in a twofold evaluation: a review of a company’s workforce policies, practices, philosophies, systems and demographics, along with the results of an employee survey measuring employee satisfaction.
This is the 21st year for the list. This year’s list included 43 small, 30 medium, and 27 large-sized companies.
More than a third of the companies on this year’s list are based in central Pennsylvania including the top ranked company in each category.
WebFX was ranked #1 in the large business category for the sixth time.
Brown Schultz Sheridan & Fritz was ranked #1 in the medium business category for the first time.
Faulkner Subaru, Harrisburg was ranked #1 for the second consecutive year in the small business category.
