Randy Buck, chief executive of touring production company Troika Entertainment, is stepping down after 21 years with the company.

Buck is leaving the position due to personal health issues. Angela Rowles, formerly the company’s chief operating officer, will take over as chief executive effective immediately.

“Due to a recent health diagnosis that requires my full and immediate attention, I have elected to step down. The amazing TROIKA staff, led by Angela Rowles, has matters well in hand as the industry finds its feet again,” Buck said in a press release.

Buck plans to continue working as an independent contractor and is interested in exploring monetization strategies for immersive and interactive theater projects, as well as creating more of a global theatrical market.

“I want to be one of the people who’s creating the brave new world,” Buck said.

Troika, one of the major touring producers of Broadway shows, has a slate of 2021-2022 North American touring productions planned including “Cats,” “My Fair Lady,” “Escape to Margaritaville” and “Tootsie,” as well as an international tour of “The Phantom of the Opera.”
