MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Lee Company and Middle Tennessee Athletics partnered during basketball season to raise money for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.
Every time the Blue Raiders connected on a three-point field goal during two selected games, Lee Company pledged $30 per made attempt to go to Second Harvest. The two selected women's basketball games were Old Dominion and Marshall. The Blue Raiders hit 15 combined threes amounting to $450 donated to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.
Emily Bonomo, brand specialist at Lee Company, and Valerie Reta, coordinator of community relations for Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, recently met with Voice of the Blue Raiders Chip Walters virtually for a check presentation.
"One in six adults and 1 in 5 children are in need of food," said Reta. "This money will go a long way and provide 1,800 meals for folks who need it." We are so thankful for this on-going partnership working with Lee Company and MTSU for something so fun like the 3-pointers and supporting the women's basketball."
"We're such big fans of MTSU and their similar missions to do good in the community," Bonomo added. "The tie-in with 3-pointers and the Lady Raiders was a great way to give back to people we know and love."
