Time is money, and for businesses, every single day of lockdown counts.
The government announced today New Zealand will stay in level four lockdown for another two business days, followed by two weeks under level three.
New Zealand Initiative Executive Director Oliver Hartwitch told Heather du Plessis-Allan we're looking at two curves: one is covid-19, the other is economic damage
"Every extra date is going to be more costly than the one. The longer this drags on, the harder it will get for the economy, and the economic damage is exponential as well."
He says the Government has done a lot for businesses so far, but thinks they could have done more to open up businesses during level 3.
