The University of Arkansas Graduate Net Impact Chapter will host its first informational chapter meeting at noon Friday, Oct. 23, via Zoom. Net Impact is a national organization of students and professionals that want to use their business and technical skills to support various social and environmental causes. The Graduate chapter seeks to unite students of various educational backgrounds that want to make a positive impact on the world.
At the meeting, current officers will discuss plans for the rest of the year, including:
- The Net Impact Speaker Series
- The social innovation book club
- The launch of the Social Impact Consultancy Project, a student-run consulting group for social impact and values-driven organizations, such as non-profits, new social ventures and small social impact focused businesses.
The meeting will also kick off with a presentation from Kellen Utecht, Regional Manager at Phigenics, an independent service partner that helps organizations safely and efficiently manage their water systems. Kellen graduated with a dual M.B.A. from the Sam M. Walton College of Business and Masters of Public Service from the Clinton School in 2013. When he couldn't find his "dream job" in sustainability on paper, Kellen convinced the company he is still with (Phigenics) to create a Director of Sustainability role!
The organization will also be providing information on officer openings and will be accepting applications soon!
